What do you want to get out of this class?
I hope to get out of this class a better since of multimedia projects and implementing them appropriately. Clearly and accurately delivering a message is of the utmost importance in any field, whether it be journalism, a classroom, or between friends and family. Deciding how to parcel the information so that it reaches the target audience for quick distribution and clarity is pertinent especially in today’s world of barrage multimedia. Choosing the correct form of communication is extremely important, especially in such a fast-paced community. It is my hope to learn how to take a basic website/blog and project it into the mainstream – allowing it to reach the largest audience possible. I also hope to become more familiar with the inner workings of multimedia for my own personal interest as well as my professional career.
How can it help your career plans?
Managing multimedia projects will greatly assist in my future career plans. After reading the introduction of Making Things Happen: Mastering Project Management, I believe the information has a broader relevance in managing people and situations. The explanations of teamwork and real life experiences at Microsoft allow the reader to have a better sense of conducting and maintaining relationships that goes beyond multimedia.
This class will allow me to build on my managerial skills while introducing me to new aspects of multimedia. My hope is to take these important skills and channel them into a position in broadcast journalism.
